Juki HZL 35Z Sewing Machine Review

Juki HZL 35ZThe Juki HZL-35Z sewing machine is a solid, smooth, precision machine with 27 built in stitches and a superior feed dog system. It’s a nice sized sewing machine with a blend of practical garment construction stitches, stretch stitches, and satin stitches.

This machine is one of a handful that bring Juki’s strong reputation for industrial sewing machines to the home sewing machine market. It’s easy to use, reliable, and runs smoothly.

Singer 7468 Sewing Machine Review

Singer 7468 Sewing MachineThe Singer 7468 is not widely available but some sewing outlets do still have this model on hand. The stitch patterns and features are exactly the same as the 7469. The only differences between the two are the color accent on the front of the machines and the machine dimensions.

Singer no longer shows this as a current model on their website but it’s still a sewing machine worth considering if only for the price discount as compared to the 7469.

Janome 8077 Sewing Machine Review

Janome 8077The Janome 8077 features and stitches might look awfully familiar and yet you’ll have a hard time finding anything out about this particular model from Janome. There’s no listing for it on their website and no manual available online. Why? Because it is exactly like the Janome Magnolia 7330 but without the pretty Magnolia graphics.

My guess is that this model was manufactured originally for another country or maybe it was a private label arrangement with some company at one point because Hancock Fabrics appears to have sold this machine for an extended period of time.

Singer 1748 Sewing Machine Review

Singer 1748 Sewing MachineThe appeal of the Singer 1748 sewing machine lies in its red accents and in the included set of stretch stitches.

The use of red on the front face of the machine is attractive, eye-catching, and popular with consumers.

This sewing machine also has adjustable presser foot pressure which is helpful when working with different fabric thicknesses and can be hard to find on sewing machines under $200.

Brother SQ9000 Sewing Machine Review

Brother SQ9000 Sewing MachineThe Brother SQ9000 quilting sewing machine comes with an extra wide extension table and a number of quilting accessories.

This is exactly the same as the Brother XR9000 with a couple of major differences and identical to the newer SQ9050 (which comes with 20 more stitches).

Brother gave it a nice accent upgrade by applying the purple scroll splash across the front of the machine, threw in the quilting accessories (which previously had to be purchased separately) and gave it a nice, low price.

Singer 7258 Sewing Machine Singer 7258 Sewing MachineIf you’ve never used a sewing machine before, it can seem quite confusing. Taken step by step everything will gradually fall into place, and what at first seemed frightening can suddenly become quite simple. Sewing machines have come a long way since their inception, and some of the technology incorporated in many machines today can be overwhelming. A conventional type of machine which is used mainly for stitching and repairing is a perfectly adequate machine for a beginner.

It’s important to consider from the start however, what the machine will eventually be required to do. Initially you’ll just learn how to use it, but what is your ultimate goal?
